A chat with the founders of When Pigs Fly, a New Year's Eve festival at Collingwood Children's Farm.
We’re heading into summer soon in Australia, which means music festival season is approaching! While we’ve seen a number of festival cancellations (Splendour in the Grass and Spilt Milk chief among them), there are still plenty of music festivals, both big and small, still going strong. I’ve previously written about music festivals for Junkee a couple of times, and it’s a topic I really enjoy covering. Live music, after all, is one of the main reasons why I got into writing about music in the first place, mainly because I thought it might be a good way to get into u18 gigs as a 15-year-old.
I’m particularly interested in learning more about music festivals that are in a growth stage — ones that have popped up in a post-pandemic environment, and are looking to establish themselves as part of the festival calendar.
