What a great weekend. The Dons won a close one, my soccer club won our 3rd game of the season, and Instagram has recommended me some blokes doing carrom trickshots (this account is my current favourite). The confidence he has every time he calls his shot is something to behold. I’m inspired by it, and trying to take that energy into this week.
I’m also feeling particularly inspired after the following interview with Naarm MC 01.EKKA. He’s just released the gritty and unrelenting IRON GARDEN, an Eastern European-inspired hip-hop album that documents the blood, sweat, and tears that goes into trying to make it as an independent artist.
I’d be lying if I said I was loving doing music journalism at the moment (though this newsletter has been fun, I’ve taken a bit of a temporary back step with pitching and whatnot), but speaking to someone that’s as all in as 01.EKKA has added a bit of kindling to the fire.
